The Happy Planet Index measures the ‘sustainable wellbeing’ of nations by embracing both the experienced happiness in countries, as well as the efficiency in resource usage. It combines four elements: wellbeing, life expectancy, inequality of outcomes and ecological footprint, and is published by New Economics Foundation (NEF).
