Life-satisfaction is one of the indicators of ‘apparent’ quality of life which differs from ‘presumed’ quality of life (e.g. persons living in the presence of conditions deemed necessary for a good life). Life-satisfaction is commonly assessed by single
direct questions through a survey, like ‘Taking all things together, how satisfied or dissatisfied are you with your life-as-a-whole these days? (0-10). The data shown was taken from Ruut Veenhoven’s Database of Happiness (Erasmus University, The Netherlands).
