The net enrolment rate (NER) shows the total number of students in the theoretical age group for primary education actually enrolled in that level, expressed as a %. A high degree of NER denotes a high degree of ‘coverage’ for the official school population. The data is published annually by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics.
